How to Cultivate Your REM Cycle Film Premiere
November 12th, 2026 | The Trylon Cinema, Minneapolis
Hatch Dance’s How to Cultivate Your REM Cycle moves from the stage to the screen in a film created by Andrew Hatling. Capturing and reimagining the original live performance for film, Hatling brings a new perspective to Helen Hatch’s dance theater work, following The Sleeper and The Dreamer through disrupted nights, looping thoughts, and strange inner landscapes. Blending dance, theater, live music, and projection, the film explores the elusive territory between sleep, dreaming, and waking—and what happens when rest becomes impossible.

Yield
World Premiere
February 25th-March 7th, 2027 | The Modern Rep, Minneapolis
Hatch Dance returns to The Modern Rep space in the North Loop for the full length premier of Yield. The culmination of work we have been iterating on and exploring since last spring, the world of Yield expands to a full evening production. Inspired by Magritte’s painting La Clef des songes (The interpretation of Dreams), Yield is a dance experiment that detaches meaning from objects by complying to the logic of dreams, unhinging conscious reality to allow the guidance of unconscious forces.
